Marlow Recognized Among the World’s Most Beautiful Restaurants by Prix Versailles 2026
Just over a year after opening its doors in Monaco’s landmark Mareterra district, Marlow has earned international recognition by being named among the Prix Versailles 2026 World’s Most Beautiful Restaurants.
The prestigious distinction, announced on June 1, highlights 16 outstanding restaurants from around the globe that combine architectural excellence, innovation, and a unique guest experience. Selected alongside renowned venues in cities such as London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Helsinki, Marlow stands as the only restaurant in the Principality of Monaco to be included in this year’s coveted list.
Since its inauguration in January 2025, Marlow has quickly established itself as one of Monaco’s most distinctive dining destinations. Conceived as a contemporary British brasserie, the restaurant reflects the vision of acclaimed artist and interior architect Hugo Toro, whose immersive design celebrates British elegance through a refined yet imaginative narrative.
Located on the central square of Mareterra, Monaco’s newest waterfront district, Marlow was praised by the Prix Versailles jury for its ability to create a sense of timelessness and belonging. In its official statement, the organization highlighted the restaurant’s sophisticated atmosphere, its sculptural central bar, bespoke furnishings, and carefully curated spaces that evoke both a private members’ club and a modern cabinet of curiosities. The design pays subtle homage to the historic presence of British travelers on the Riviera while offering a contemporary interpretation of hospitality and lifestyle.
Beyond its remarkable interiors, Marlow’s culinary identity draws inspiration from classic British gastronomy, reimagined with modern flair and Mediterranean influences. Together, architecture, design, and cuisine create a harmonious experience that embodies the spirit of the venue.
Supported by UNESCO, the Prix Versailles recognizes the world’s most inspiring contemporary architectural achievements across multiple categories. For restaurants, the award celebrates projects that successfully combine aesthetic excellence, cultural significance, sustainability, and a strong connection between the dining concept and its environment.
By joining the Prix Versailles 2026 selection, Marlow is now eligible for one of the three prestigious World Titles to be announced later this year: the Prix Versailles, the Interior Award, and the Exterior Award.
Located in the heart of Mareterra, Monaco’s newest district, Marlow offers an all-day dining experience inspired by British culture and hospitality. Combining refined cuisine, elegant interiors designed by Hugo Toro, and a vibrant social atmosphere, Marlow has quickly become one of Monaco’s most sought-after culinary destinations.
